For this project, I created a fully type-driven poster using the Hernando De Soto Historical Society’s mission statement as the foundation. The design forms the silhouette of the organization’s iconic conquistador figure entirely through strategically arranged text, using scale, weight, and color to define the helmet, armor, and plume.
Red, yellow, and white typography mirrors the organization’s brand palette and helps visually separate each part of the illustration while maintaining readability. Key mission phrases are emphasized through larger type and placement, giving the design both artistic impact and informational value.
This piece highlights my ability to transform written content into a compelling visual composition, blending storytelling, branding, and typography into a unique nonprofit-focused graphic.
